Before applying for a visa change, don’t look at only one requirement. Check these 5 things πŸ“Œ 1. Your current visa What status are you holding now? πŸ“Œ 2. Your education Degree, major, and graduation status can matter. πŸ“Œ 3. Your Korean ability TOPIK/KIIP requirements may apply depending on the visa. πŸ“Œ 4. Your job & salary For employment-based visas, the job, company, salary, and qualifications can be important. πŸ“Œ 5. Required documents Missing or incorrect documents can delay your application. ⚠️ Visa requirements can change. Always check the latest official immigration guidance before applying. πŸ’¬ Which visa change are you preparing for? D-2 ➑️ D-10 | D-10 ➑️ E-7 | E-7 ➑️ F-2 | F-6 ➑️ F-5 Follow REIAC Community for practical Korea visa & foreign resident information. πŸ‡°πŸ‡·

Published: September 9, 2026 Source: Korea Immigration Service, Ministry of Justice The Seoul Immigration Office has issued a voice-phishing warning. Fraudsters are reportedly using international phone numbers beginning with β€œ06-” and pretending to be immigration officials. Do not provide your ARC number, passport details, bank information, passwords, or transfer money in response to such calls. Verify any request through the official 1345 Immigration Contact Center or the relevant immigration office.

Even if your university classes are in English, knowing Korean can make your life much easier. πŸ—£οΈ Communicate better with professors & friends πŸ’Ό Find more part-time and job opportunities 🏦 Handle banks, hospitals & government offices easily πŸŽ“ Prepare better for life after graduation πŸ“„ Korean ability can also be important for certain visa pathways. You don’t need to be fluent from day one. Start with basic Korean and improve step by step. A little Korean can open a lot of doors!

D-2/D-4 students generally need permission before starting a part-time job. Required documents: β€’ Passport & ARC β€’ Employment contract β€’ Business registration certificate β€’ Employer’s ID card β€’ Certificate of enrollment β€’ Academic transcript β€’ Korean proficiency certificate (if applicable) Requirements can vary by visa and study program. Check with your university or 1345 before starting work. [You can apply online through Hikorea and remember it takes around 14 days so make contract to work after 14 days of your signed date]
